Extension Drawings
Whether your changes fall under Permitted Development or they fall into the requirement for full householder planning permission, having detailed plans is an essential requirement. These plans form an integral part of your planning permission /Lawful Development Certificate application. Not only are they important for this part of the planning process but home extension plans and elevations are essential for establishing how the project will be realised when employing the services of building contractors.
We also offer other building/construction based CAD services should they be required such as:
-
Structural Detailing
-
Structural plans
-
Steelwork Details
-
Kitchen Layouts
-
Bathroom Layouts
-
Internal Visuals/Interior design
-
Realistic rendering
-
Electrical Schematic diagrams
We also transfer old hand drawn Architectural/construction drawings into CAD based software.
No matter what CAD based drawing you're after we can accommodate most requests, so get in touch. We'd be happy to help.
Do you need planning permission?
Depending on scale and location, additions to your house will either require planning permission or may fall within the building regulations and guidelines for permitted development, which allows you to build without pre-approval from the local authority. Understanding these guidelines isn’t as straightforward as it seems. So, a Certificate of Lawful Development is recommended to ensure your Permitted Development build does meet the guidelines. This is particularly useful as it will help ensure any future purchasers of your home are happy that the work carried out does indeed fall within permitted development guidelines and is an approved addition to the house.
Extension Drawings for Planning permission and Certificate of Lawful Development
Both types of planning applications essentially require the same package of architectural drawings (existing and proposed plans and elevations, location plan). Council decision times are fairly similar so the only discernible difference is the council fee is half the cost and there isn’t a period of public consultation.
